Not completed until 1978, Liverpool Cathedral is the largest church in the UK. Its 12 bells, cast at Whitechapel in 1939, are the highest and heaviest ringing peal of bells in the world. Also in the tower is the (clapper-rung) Great George, the 2nd largest bell in the UK. All in the UK’s best city, of course.
