2020 Contest

RWNYC 2020 CANCELLED

I am very sorry to say that RWNYC 2020 has been cancelled, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although I had hoped we might be able to hold an event in the later part of 2020, the continuing restrictions on mass-participation events mean this will not be possible.

I realise that this is a further disappointment to everyone who was hoping to take part, but I am sure that you understand that we have to be guided by Government regulations and Church of England and Central Council policy.

I will make an announcement about the venue for 2021 soon, in the hope that lockdown restrictions will have been lifted sufficiently by then to allow the contest to take place.

Various towers in and around York city centre will be open, all easily accessible by public transport, alongside the ever popular handbell workshops. Full details of the day will be published in due course. In the meantime, suggestions for accommodation can be found here.

Please send any queries to rwnyc@ringingworld.co.uk. The intention is to share the draw with teams in early April to allow for advance purchase train ticket offers to be taken advantage of.

We look forward to welcoming you all to York in July.
